Glory Lost - The Old Kingdom of Bakrasah

Once a shining beacon of civilization in southern Avalon, the Old Kingdom of Bakrasah knew peace. Founded in 4 E.R, this serene territory once touched the Serpent Compact to the west and Baddira to the east. The harmony of the land was shattered by war, started between the King and one of his closest advisors nearly 200 years previous to this writing. Now, five city-states feud over resources and discord is the rule. There is on one set law of the land, each city-state has it's own laws. Outside of the cities is anarchy. Drakesbridge is a village apart from these cities, and its tale is told on another scroll. These notes will be filled out as I learn more of the area.

I have made a copy of a sketched map of the area. The following are my personal notes about the lands surrounding Drakesbridge.

The Dutchy of Alyria

Ruler - Aaron C’Moggan, Duke, High Protector of the Realm

Ambassador - to be decided

Position on Slavery - illegal, punishable by imprisonment or death. The Dutchy of Alyria favors freedom for all sentient individuals regardless of race.

In February of 608, I took my first visit of this beautiful city. It is all that I was told in terms of civilization, peace and beauty. They have everything from armor, arms and magic vendors to street musicians and their Library. Most of its people seem happy and the city prospers.

The Empire of Rathon

Ruler - Lord and Lady Rath

Ambasssador - unknown

Position on Slavery - legal and openly practiced.

They are rumored to be very insular. In fact, we rarely see their citizens out and about here. They are certainly not talkative.

The Principality of Redmarch

Ruler - Thane Thordin Wildhammer

Ambasssador - Lord Malcador

Former Position on Slavery - illegal but enforcement is rare.

They are currently a Protectorate of Gloomwood, and as such, subject to their laws. According to Lord Malcador, the government of Redmarch welcomes the protection of Gloomwood. The Redmarch Resistance, of course, tells a different story.

The Merchant State of Mynea

Ruler - Prince Jaffar Rahab

Ambasssador - unknown

Position on Slavery - neither legal nor illegal but the wealthy, including nobles and merchants, own them openly.

We are told that the main powers in Mynea are the merchant houses. Their primary concern is commerce, rather than more noble ideals or more ruthless goals. Having visited their city in Febrary of 608, I can say that it prospers under the current leadership. It has the variety of vendors as Alyria, if not the centers of learning in the same way.

The Lands of Gloomwood

Ruler - unknown

Ambasssador - Lord Malcador

Position on Slavery - legal and openly practiced.

It is said that those who venture into Gloomwood rarely travel back out. Those who resurrect there often do so as one of the vile undead. Lord Malcador assures us that those who become undead servants do so by their free will.
