Being new to Drakesbridge, there is only a small amount of writing that I can contribute about the area to date. As my knowledge grows, so shall the writings. These are still a work in progress. This city is currently one trying to carve its identity out of the abused countryside. Formerly it was part of the Kingdom of Bakrasah, which has divided into five feuding city-states after war tore the kingdom apart over 200 years ago.

The more I think on it, the more I see Drakesbridge as a village of opportunity and hope. In spite of considerable hostility in this region, it retains its independence. This is not just due to the presence of Lord Law, who enforces order and justice. This is due in no small part to the bravery and spirit of the citizens here. There is every reason for me to believe that this area will once again become an example of what civilization can be.

People of Note

Lord Law: Of this being I know very little. Being an Order Elemental he is not prone to mercy or bribery, and is concerned only with the "spirit of the law". When he makes up his mind, it tends to be final. He is not moved by emotions such as compassion, hate, pity or love. He can be respectful when politely addressed. His desire, from what we can tell, is to see order in town, which is not terribly surprising. My only question is - why Drakesbridge?

Nala Strongbow, former Ambassador of the Dutchy of Alyria: This Stone Elf is an Earth Caster of considerable skill. She is wise and just, and holds concern for the citizens of the area. In November of 607 E.R. she cast the Permanent Earth Circle in the Tavern which finally provided the citizens of Drakesbridge with a safe place to ressurect. The Circle was also the beginning of the new Drakesbridge Healer's Guild. In march of 608 E.R. she merged with a spirit from Alyria known only as the "Daughter of Life" for the protection of that city-state.

Snorri Steelhelm, former Ambassador of the Principality of Redmarch: This dwarf is fiercly dedicated to his home city-state and is an active member of the Resistance. They oppose the increased control that Gloomwood exerts over Redmarch. He is currently wanted by Gloomwood for crimes which include treason and sedition.

Sir Josian Marinko, Senior Harper of Drakesbridge: Having arrived in Spring of 607, he is a strong voice for law and good. As a Harper, he is knowledgable about local custom, among other things, and sings with fair voice. He passionately believes that hope and liberty can grow in the area and has risked life and limb to keep others safe. In fact, he could perhaps grow more fond of having a greater number of companions fighting by his side, in order not to stumble bleeding into the Healer's Guild. This does, however, prove that he is willing to bleed for that which he believes in. For this, we should all be grateful, for he believes in us. For acts of bravery in defending the town, he was Knighted in the Order of Light in December 607, E.R.

Lord Malchit, Emissary of the Daughter of Life: This human is a rosy cheeked fellow. He seems to glow with the very essence of Life itself. He is here to be a tie between Drakesbridge, our Healer's Guild, and the Daughter of Life. He has petitioned to be a member of the Guild. Both he and his mistress support the Healer's Guilds in all areas.

Lord Malcador, Ambassador of Gloomwood and the Protectorate of Redmarch: This man was sent as the first well known ambassador of Gloomwood we have known. As per their customs, he keeps undead servants. He is a firm supporter of Gloomwood and will take no nonsense from any. To his credit, he has begun polite relations with our Guild and the Captain of the Guard, Jomar.

Silvanus the Goblin: Well dressed and spoken, this goblin is a merchant to te reckoned with in Drakesbridge. In November of 607 E.R., he offered the Contract for the position of Tavern Keep to whomever convinced him should have it. He had his agents attempt to set Jomar and Imabib against each other To the credit of my companions, they declined the bait and both argued for our Tavern Guy to have the Contract. The goblin may have other schemes, and he certainly is able to obtain trading writs from the mysterious Lord Law.

Adventuring Companions

Recently, I have made some friends in town. We have the makings of a decent adventuring team. Here are the people who have made Drakesbridge a common place to visit, and perhaps call home.

Masacha: This grey Sarr of the Lynx Clan is my apprentice at the Healer's Guild. Ironically, I am learning Earth magics from her as I instruct her in the ways of the Guild. She is a kind, caring soul who will heal any of us in need.

Imbabib Rahab (a.k.a. The Mobile Tavern Guy): Recently, this quick tongued human won the contract from Silvanus the Goblin for the position of Tavern Keep of Drakesbridge. He is skilled in the art of negotiation, securing exotic trading rights with local and foreign denizens. His quick wit and healing potions have saved the day more than once. Now that he is Tavern Keep, it seems that the mobile part of his trade is, for now, suspended. He is also an upstanding member of the Healer's Guild.

Captain Jomar Gitano: My first meeting with this Gypsy was when he came stumbling into the tavern with a head wound. It is probably a good thing we placed the Healer's Guild Circle in the Tavern, considering the amount of bleeding people do there. In any case, Jomar's laughter and good spirits are an important ingredient in restoring civilization in the area. In addition, he has taken on the Captaincy of the Town Guard, and is vocal in stirring support for the town. He is good with cards and dice. His smile comes easily, and his toungue is often busy spinning tales or song.

Hiss: He is a loyal and brave Snake Scavenger. Unfortunately, he has suffered the suspicion and ill will of others due to his appearance. However, he is someone I feel grateful to have guarding my back or holding the front line in the field. He is a member of the Healer's Guild.

Androdameia: One of my few female friends here, she is of the Barbarian Tribes. You would not think someone of the Celestial Arts would get along so well with one of her Tribe, but we respect each other. Certainly, her two handed sword provides for a strong addition to our fighting force. Her frank and sometimes blunt observations are also a refreshing source of inspiration.

Xnyl: She is a fiesty Sarr of the White Tiger Clan. Her skill in Earth magics is grealty appreciated, with Nala the Daughter of Life, being tied up in Alyria. Recently Xnyl has agreed to become Lead Healer in the Healer's Guild. She is as warm in friendship as she is fierce in battle, and I am glad that we are becoming friends.

Nerrik: He is the more soft spoken and even tempered lifemate of Xnyl. He is also of the White Tiger Clan. He has a keen mind and provides us valuable insights as well as strong support in battle with sword and shield. He is taking up a civil leadership role here in Drakesbridge. He, along with Jomar, has also been a strong voice for civilization and prosperity here.

People of Notoriety

Rogs Buttergold: Formerly of the Rahab Trading Company, he has been declared outlaw by the order of Lord Law. The goblin is currently wanted for crimes including felonious assault, theft, fraud, murder, and conspiracy to commit murder. There is a reward of 10 gold pieces being offered for information that leads to his capture.

The Bandit King: An elusive man who is a self-proclaimed "ruler" of the wildnerness in between the motes of civilization around Draesbridge. He is a leading cause of anarchy in between the city-states. Fortunately, I have no first hand knowledge of him or his band of thieves, having secured safe travel to the area by merchant caravan.

The Lord of Undeath: Little is known of this being except that is intends to destroy Drakesbridge. He is allied with "The Son of Chaos" and the Hysterions to this end.
