What is Live Action Roleplaying?

NERO is a live action roleplaying setting (LARP). If you've heard of Dungeons and Dragons, then you know what a roleplaying game is. The NERO setting was inspired in a large part by games such at this. LARPing takes the roleplaying experience to the next level, in a live setting. It's an exciting, engaging, creative and challenging hobby which exercises both mind and body. Each person plays a character, a fictional person, who experiences and reacts to the events of the game setting. There is a set of rules to determine the effects of actions and battles and to ensure things happen in a safe environment.

NERO stands for the New England Roleplaying Organization, the first name for the game that grew out of "Weekend Warriors" which was based out of a shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It has grown quite a bit since the first handful of players and there are now chapters in many states in America, as well as in Canada. Visit the Links page to find the full list of chapters. The current parent corporation for all NERO chapters is NEROŽ International Holding Co., Inc.
