About the Player

How Did I Hear About NERO?

For years I've enjoyed table top RPGs, computer games and board games. I've long been attracted to the fantasy genre, in books and movies as well. One of my friends and gaming buddies approached myself and a couple of other people about this live game he had heard about in 1997. The idea of actually getting "into" the game setting sounded like a lot of fun. So, we got a rule book, created our characters, packed the car and headed up to our first NERO event in May of 2007. From the very first, it was incredibly engaging and fun.

Why do I play NERO?

Cheap therapy. Also, did I mention it was fun? Aside from that, it's healthy exercise. There's a lot of walking, running and "fighting". The mind also gets its fair share of exercise coming up with solutions to various problems that present themselves and solving puzzles. It's a wonderful creative outlet for me, where I've made costuming, props and come up with modules for other players to run their characters through.

Other Odds & Ends

Living in Houston, I naturally belong to the Houston NERO chapter. You can find their website on the Links page. In my professional life, I'm an IT geek with a Bachelors in Network Administration. My other recreations include reading, movies, computers, scripting and enjoying the company of friends.
