Tengwa Leman - Journal of Travels

Parma Quentari - 597 - 606 E.R.

Wearying of the constant conflict, both monstrous and political, which are Ravenholt's hallmark, I returned to my homeland in late 597 E.R. During this time I visted with with Illenon Saleros and served Elenaro as best I knew how. My time was divided between my family, Elenaro's court, and Rayna's village among the Wood Elves.

I had heard that Niman has supposedly given up slavery in favor of “indentured servitude.” Given their history of kidnapping and mistreatment of slaves, as well as Niman's historical denial of such deeds, I remain deeply skeptical that anything has changed in that barony. I remain alert for any news that might lead to proof of what is really going on within the Nimani borders in relation to “indentured servitude” or slavery, for my own satisfaction as well as for the safety of Quentari citizens.

Service to Elenaro and being back in Quentari were wonderful at first. The old wanderlust, thought satisfied, had returned, however. I realized that the very way I was first able to serve Aran Elenaro was with information only a traveler could glean from Ravenholt. In Quentari, I no longer had such an advantage. To be honest I also was maddened by the politics between the Quentari Illenon. and the various folk competing for the attentions of members of Illenon Ar-Din. I felt I could be of more service as a traveler once again, and asked Elenaro's permission to venture back into the lands of humans. As they often do, the quick turn of human events provided several items of interest to the nation of Quentari, among them the person known as Lord Law in Drakesbridge. This being a matter of a local nature, Elenaro was unable to venture out himself to investigate, having many other and more important issues to attend to.

The Aran granted his permission, and I'm honored to say he seemed sad that I was leaving. He realized the potential importance of information gained from the field, however. Thus began my next long journey outside of Quentari, to the town of Drakesbridge.
