This scroll describes my later experiences in Ravenholt.
In 592 came the unfortunate dissolution of the Quentari Embassy by Duke Ravenhurst. During a meeting between the Duke, Adumegil and myself, the Duke told us that it was a security risk to have the Embassy in Ravenholt. His reasoning was delivered in the manner of someone who has not come up with this idea but has gotten it from someone else, and thinks he is cunning. He said that the Embassy was considered to be Quentari soil. He explained that Elenaro could declare war on Evendarr and the Embassy would provide shelter for “the enemy.” Despite the protests of Adumegil and myself that this could not be the case and that the Duke could disband the Embassy later if that were to happen, the decree was enacted. I obtained information that Deshikaiban, Castellian of the Elfheim Embassy had been the one to plant the idea in the Duke's head. I wondered why the Duke didn't dissolve the Elfheim Embassy, considering them much more likely (at that time) to start hostilities with Evendarr than Quentari. Unfortunately I was unable to do anything about the decision.
In what was to be a blessing in disguise, the lich Sakalid destroyed the official Healer's Guild Circle in September 593 before destroying a wing of the Mage's Guild. Two permanent Healer's Circles were raised soon after. There was one created for myself, as I have mentioned earlier, by Lady Tristamere the Sarr. The other was raised by Father Michael for Gwenneth Whitefeather. Michael had gathered Gwenneth, Cap, Teisha, with the remaining members of the old Healer's Guild and created a new circle closer to the Great Hall.. The two groups had competing requests for an official Healer's Guild Charter from Lake Hollym. A representative from Lake Hollym, Father Michael Westhalven, traveled to Ravenholt to meet with these two groups to see which would gain the charter. He had intended to destroy the old circle in any case, so the lich had done him a favor. The old Healer's Guild was dissolved and Damon was removed as Guildmaster. Lake Hollym decided to grant two Guild charters. One went to myself and the other to Gwynneth Whitefeather, Guildmistress of the circle that Father Michael had erected.
In December of 593, I helped destroy the lich Kalliestro, long an enemy of Ravenholt. I had traveled with the Vornae Highlady Durchasi Ruinvorn, who had brought her team named Phoenix. Our party also consisted of people from the Healer's Guild and from the Funeral Parlor. Traveling with us was High Lord Gust Darkwind, who had recently become a liche, considered an abomination by my people. This was part of an honor-quest, the Vornae had said. He did use his abilities to destroy the undead, stated he could not cast necromancy, and stated an intention to transform back into his natural Vornae form when his quest was complete. While I wanted to believe his good intentions I suspected he probably also had personal gain in mind when he took on the powers of that undead form. I have to admit I was somewhat relieved when he left town in the late 590's. Then, as now, I felt strongly about trying to unite the elves. Before he left town, Lord Gust encouraged me to continue in that persuit. The only other thing to note for the year of 593 is that Damon and myself went our separate ways the next year in a mutually amicable parting. While the dissolution of a lifemating is highly unusual for the Quentari, so is lifemating to a human. There are, I believe, certain incompatibilities of spirit or worldview that make it difficult for a Human and Quentari to make a lifemating last for an entire lifespan.
My duties in the Healer's Guild were helped in a large part by guild members and friends. Our allies came from nearly all races and backgrounds. Among those who traveled with us or visited us regulawrly were several Vornae, Mystic Wood Elves, Humans, Wild Elves, Scavengers and even a gentleman by the name of Myriad whose race was never really determined. There are bittersweet memories of my former lovemate, Grave Darkwind. He was a Vornae who came to lead the Funeral Parlor. We became lovemates around 594, and learned a great deal about one another's cultures. His ways were sometimes strange to me, for example his emotional distance when he was called to a meeting with King Jared in 595. The relationship lasted a few years before we went their separate ways. During these years, I also formed friendships with the Gypsies. Jeserai Ashaka Baljar and others. With the approval of the Baljar Bandoleer Houlie MacHine, Jeserai named Lunasiria Gypsy Friend. Other allies during these years were old friends Rellik and Sebastian, the Vornae Leviathan, the Mystic Wood Elves Random, Shatter, Shard and of course Kestrel and Ember. There were many others who helped with the protection and running of the Guild, and I will ever remember their help and companionship with gratitude. There was occasional bickering, of course, but looking back on that I can see the value of all opinions to a leader. It is my belief that the stress and hardship caused by friction have helped me to grow in that capacity.
By this point in time, I came to realize that a formal union of all elves was out of the question. All elves working together on a regular basis was also seemingly beyond us. Elves of various types did work together, however, as need arose. This was especially true when any news of a Pantherghast was heard. There was a lot of camaraderie between many of us, at least. Most of us considered all elves cousins and called each other such. There were many evenings where various cousins gathered in the Healer's Guild to share various types of elven wine, memories and stories.
